Holy Week

Dear Friends in Christ,

We wanted to invite you—again—to some wonderful worship opportunities at First United Methodist Church here in Auburn. Won't you invite a friend or two, and family members, to join you in worship this week?  (We continue to practice social distancing and ask all those present to wear a face covering.)

Holy Thursday, April 1st
*Our building will be open for prayer and meditation from 5-6 pm
*The Maundy Thursday service of music, word, and Communion will be at 6:30 pm
We'll walk with Jesus through the Last Supper and see how Jesus surprises his disciples in the Upper Room.

Good Friday, April 2nd
*Our building will be open for prayer and meditation from 12 Noon - 3 pm, and again from 5-6 pm
Come for a time of private prayer in this sacred space (using either the sanctuary or the prayer room/labyrinth)
*Good Friday worship (a Tenebrae Service) will be at 6:30 pm in our sanctuary. This service is a cooperative effort of First UMC, First Presbyterian, and The Gathering.
The dramatic events of Good Friday, from the betrayal to the cross, will become even more real for us through this service of music, scripture, and a meditation.

Easter Sunday, April 4th
Easter Sunday worship will be held at 8:30, 9:50, and 11 am (We will have a surprise for you at the end of each service!)
Note: We encourage regular attendees of the 8:30 service to shift over to one of the later services to provide room for guests. If there is an overflow crowd, we are ready with extra seating so people can worship on Easter as they watch the service on large screens in our Commons and Fellowship Hall.

God is good - all the time!

Come join us for one or all of these opportunities to connect with God, and celebrate the reality of the Creator's power over death.

In Christ,
Pastor Mark Fenstermacher                        Pastor Nikki Brown-Rice

P.S. Following Easter, we are beginning a powerful new series of messages on Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. See how God can bring healing and new life to our life choices and relationships!
