Sanctuary

Our Sanctuary service offers a timeless worship experience in a beautiful, traditional setting. During a service, you’ll hear classic hymns accompanied by piano or organ, along with a robed choir that adds to the reverence of this service. We follow meaningful liturgies that guide our time together, and on special occasions, we feature the beautiful sounds of our bell choir. It’s a worship experience that connects us with God and the traditions of
our ancestors.

Sunday School

Sunday school offers something for everyone, from preschoolers to senior adults. We offer a variety of classes for adults that meet weekly, covering a wide range of topics and age groups. In addition to our regular classes, we also occasionally offer short-term, topic-based sessions for those looking to dive deeper into specific subjects. Whether you’re new or have been attending for years, we’d love to help you find a class that fits. Just stop by the Welcome Center, and we’ll get you connected to the right group!

Chapter 2

Our Chapter 2 service offers a relaxed, modern worship experience in a welcoming and casual setting. Held in the Fellowship Hall, we gather around tables instead of pews, and a live praise band leads us in contemporary worship music. Families will appreciate the kids’ area in the back, complete with quiet activities, bean bags, and rocking chairs to keep little ones comfortable. During the service, there are various ways to engage, making it a more interactive and personal worship experience for everyone.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR

Dress comfortably or go all out—you decide. We are a very diverse church. You’ll feel right at home wearing anything from jeans to business casual to your Sunday best.

WHERE SHOULD I GO WHEN I ARRIVE?

You can always enter through any glass door on Sunday mornings, but if you easy access here is some helpful information:

Sanctuary

Use doors 1 or 13, our accessible, covered entrance. When you come inside you can head to the coat closet if you have anything you would like to hang.

Our Welcome Center, located just in front of the big stone pillar in The Commons, is where you can find guest information. One of our friendly volunteers with a brightly colored lanyard will be more than happy to show you around.

Chapter 2

Use door 8 which leads you right into Fellowship Hall. Doors 1 and 13 are also open and Fellowship Hall is located on the west side of the building. Feel free to use the coat closet and restrooms before heading that way or use the coat rack and restrooms in Fellowship Hall.

The Welcome Center in Fellowship Hall is where you can go for information, coffee and help. One of our friendly volunteers with a brightly colored lanyard will be more than happy to show you around.

Mission & Vision

We accept the challenge set forth by the United Methodist Church to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We will strive to live that out through our mission which we believe is the purpose of First United Methodist Church in Auburn:

Our mission is to be a community of faith bringing Christlike unconditional love and acceptance to all.

We believe that God has given us a vision, a direction and goal to move forward as we live out our mission in the community and in the world:

Our vision is to bring God's grace to all as we grow as disciples ... striving to be like Jesus, loving everyone, and helping others.

Purposeful Outreach & Missions

that commit us to service that makes a difference.

Our service should connect us with those we serve, be dignity-giving, meet a felt need, and be transformative.

Intentional SPIRITUAL GROWTH

that leads to transformation.

God provides the growth, we are called to provide the opportunity through challenging discipleship in the Wesleyan tradition.

EXTRAVAGANT HOSPITALITY

that provides a safe environment where we all feel wanted and loved.
